Items of Interest

Website:  Pictures are needed for the website.  Please call the Chamber Office (297-0004) to list information about your business on the website.  Or e-mail pictures and/or event information to adrianmochamber@gmail.com.  The way to make this an AWESOME site is for YOU to send your business information and pictures to be included. Thanks for your help.

Facebook:  The Adrian Chamber now has a Face Book page.  (See link above). Check it for copies of the newsletters and other Chamber notes on upcoming events, etc.  You may post general information about your business (days, hours of business, etc.).  It is not to be used for actual advertising of your business.

BAT (Business  About Town):  The  BAT was  September 9 at 12:00 noon at Wimfields on Main with American National Insurance as host.   After the meeting, the host provided a short tour of it’s business on Main Street with dessert served.

December 9 will be the last BAT for 2011.  If you would like YOUR business to be featured at a BAT, please call the Chamber office (297-0004), or send an email to adrianmochamber@gmail.com. Attendees pay for their own lunch and hear a presentation about the featured business/organization. Handouts, samples, etc. from the business are encouraged. BATs are held quarterly.

Welcome Bags: Items from individual Chamber businesses are needed for the Welcome Bags.  These bags are given to new residents when they establish residence in Adrian.  This is a great opportunity to advertise your business and help Adrian make a great “First Impression” on new residents. There have been many Welcome Bags given out this past year.  Everyone who has a utility startup either at Adrian City Hall OR with Adrian Rural Water District #5 receives a welcome bag.

Does YOUR business have an item in the bag?  If not, new residents don’t know about your business or what you offer.  See page 2 for some examples of what Adrian and some other towns offer in their new resident Welcome Bags.  Even if you have provided items in the past, MORE are needed.  This is an ongoing project.  You may drop your items off at the Adrian Bank or the Chamber Office.

Banners: Take a look at the great banners hanging on the light poles along Old 71 Hwy and Main Street.  They do much to dress up our town. The business mentioned on each banner provides funding for that banner. If you would like a banner bearing YOUR business name, please call the Chamber office (297-0004), or send an email to adrianmochamber@gmail.com.

Newsletter for November 2010

The Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors met November 4, 2010 at 7:30 at the VFW Building.

Website: We are in the process of changing the website. If you need something listed, please give Elbert a call and we will get it listed for you.

Banner Promotion: Bear with us we are in the process of getting the rest of the banners up as we speak. We are going to contact some other individuals to see if we can get the banners up any sooner. We appreciate the City Crew for putting the banners down Main Street but they are really busy working on other projects right now so we are going to see if we can get someone else to help us out with this project.

Sight and Safety Night: The Chamber would like to personally Thank the Lions Club for sponsoring the Sight and Safety night and for being a big part of the success of it for several years.

Christmas Parade: Plans are well underway for our 1st Annual Christmas Parade. As we speak we have several entries and are planning on having another committee meeting on November 9, 2010. Anyone interested in participating in the parade is more that welcome to just show up at the VFW Hall between the hours of 3:30 and 4:00 for Line-up and the parade will start at 4:30.

Chamber Banquet: The date for the Chamber of Commerce Banquet has been set for March 19, 2011. We actually took the date that the chamber had reserved for the Expo, because the Optimist Building was booking up fast, so the Board voted to have the Banquet in March and wait and have the Expo in April. I will be giving out more details when they become available I just wanted everyone to get that date on their calendar and make plans to attend, it should and always is a really nice evening.

Business Expo: The date for the expo has been changed to April 16, 2011. The Expo committee met and has been discussing plans for the Expo as far as Advertising and plans for the event. We are still in the planning stages as soon as we finalize our plans we will be getting some information out to our chamber members, so they can plan on attending.

BATS: December BAT: Crowe & Heckman, P.C.

Chamber Bucks: Once again it is getting that time a year to start planning on Christmas shopping. There is nothing better than getting chamber bucks for that certain someone that you just can’t figure out what to buy. Chamber bucks make great gifts for employees or for that boss that is hard to buy for. You can purchase chamber bucks at the Adrian Bank or at Yoss Thriftway or Citizens Bank.

Once again we have a lot going on and a lot on our agenda. Keep shopping local and like I said chamber bucks are always a great gift and we always have are chamber mugs for sale.

Date to Remember:

  1. November 27 – Christmas Parade – 4:30
  2. March 19, 2011 – Annual Chamber of Commerce Banquet
  3. April 16, 2011 – Adrian Chamber of Commerce Business Expo 2011
